It’s Hip To Be Square

Like, we had the most excellent time of totally EVAR just now!

The Lampwick Continuüm got together all of our radical ‘tudes and bitchin’ ‘dos and we had a killer 80’s Par-tay. We watched a bunch of awesome music videos, and somebody brought a whole tray of these tubular sandwiches they called “wraps” like it’s oh so Hollywood, baby. There were wine coolers and Fuzzy Navels and everybody was totally stoked about the whole thing. A couple of the guys were rockin’ their Member Only jackets, and there was eyeliner and Aqua Net for days. We were gonna like, prank call this one dude’s house but like, he moved, so whatever… We read all these Top 10 lists of the Best and Worst movies and TV shows of the 80’s and argued about them instead.

Floating Down Denial

It is alleged that members of The Lampwick Continuüm attended Area 504’s re-enactment of the Egyptian Festival of Drunkenness this weekend at Randolph and Leanne’s house. However, that cannot be corroborated at this time.

Area 504 Crawfish Boil

The time has come again for the annual summer feast of “The New Orleans Area Society For The Preservation And Consumption Of Science Fiction And Alcoholic Beverages.” Many Lampwick members are also members of Area 504, and the feast is traditionally held at Jessica’s house.

Friends also honored Charlotte’s impending weight loss with a “Farewell To Your Uterus” celebration, presenting her with a tasteful wall hanging to commemorate the event.

The Lampwick book discussion (Fallen Angels by Larry Niven, Jerry Pournelle & Michael Flynn) was postponed to allow more members time to finish reading.

Lampwick BBQ

This weekend, The Lampwick Continuüm traveled to Lafayette, LA, to Chris’ house, where they gorged themselves silly on all manner of char-broiled goodness. A variety of fire hazards were controlled, children were wrangled, and a lamp-lit cake was had for Nebe’s birthday.

Mobicon 12

The Lampwick Continuüm recently traveled to Mobile, AL, to endure the rigors of the 3 Days of Mobicon.

Lampwick members Jessica Styons and Charlotte Pringle helped build and perform in Area 504’s production of “Puppetstar Galactica: Blood On The Socks“, and Nebe Barnett hosted room parties for The Amalgamation and Area 504.

Wii Tea and Membership Meeting

The Lampwick Continuüm met at Mark & Karen’s house for a Wii Tea, at which they partook of various food, drink, and video games.

Prior to the tea, a membership meeting was held wherein The Lampwick Continuüm voted to extend an invitation to Barbara Fracaro-Soileau.
