“The Lampwick Continuüm”

Our official naming ceremony was held on Sunday, December 21, 2008 at 3pm.

The newest member of the Gulf South fandom community is The Lampwick Continuüm.

“Our light isn’t any brighter than anyone else’s, but we’ve got a neat place to keep it.”

Members Michael Scott and Karen Lineske ignited the Ceremonial Lamp, just as they lent of their light 22 years earlier to create Star One Delta.  A representative of Area 504, Raymond Boudreau, was present and presented us with a token from Rebecca Smith, the Captain of that fine organization.  We will attempt to incorporate the token presented as part of the Ceremonial Lamp.

The Idiot’s Lantern

And yea verily, did we, on this date, convene at Matt & Brandy’s, the first meeting of the Operation Lampwick Video Production SIG. We brainstormed several quick “commercials” for the group, to make once we have nailed down a final name.  We discussed the lamp that Matt has and generally like it but are considering painting it metallic.  We discussed some new name options, and are going to do a second round of polls combining them with the leaders from the first poll.
